What is visualisation?

It is a technique of creating mental pictures of the outcome you want to reach. It involves using your 5 senses to really connect with your final goal. You really have to FEEL it!

It is thought to have originated thousands of years ago. The first recorded instance comes from the ancient Chinese text, the I Ching. In this text, visualisation was used as a tool for divination.

However, it wasn’t until the early 20th century that visualisation began to gain popularity as a tool for self-improvement. The first self-help book to advocate the use of visualisation was Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich, published in 1937. Since then, visualisation has been widely used by athletes, businesspeople, and anyone looking to improve their life

Why is visualisation important in getting pregnant and throughout your pregnancy?

Visualisation is important in getting pregnant as it can help to increase the chances of becoming pregnant. When you visualise yourself becoming pregnant, you are effectively planting a seed in your mind that can grow and blossom into reality.

If you focus on the positive aspects of pregnancy and visualise yourself enjoying a healthy pregnancy, then you are more likely to create this reality for yourself.

Throughout your pregnancy, visualisation can be used as a tool to help you stay calm and focused. It can be difficult to maintain a positive outlook when faced with all the challenges that pregnancy can bring, but if you keep visualising yourself and your baby happy and healthy, then this will eventually become your reality

Visualisation helped me get over what I perceived to be my limiting beliefs, like my age and the imbalance in my hormones.

My Daily Routine

Through the process of visualisation, I was able to create images of a healthy hypothalamus sending impulses to my pituitary gland in turn creating the right level of hormones. This led on to visualising a healthy embryo implanting in my uterus and so on. I always ended my visualisation with me playing with my child or holding my baby in my arms.

Whether or not this helped me conceive, I really can’t say for sure, but what I can tell you is how I felt after my sessions in the morning. I was less anxious and more positive about my goal. It felt like I had the most amazing secret and no-one could ever find out about it. There were days that I’d be bubbling over with excitement, as if I had just found out I was pregnant!

I can’t promise that visualisation alone will get you pregnant, but I genuinely believe that it should be part of your routine, along with taking your vitamins and having a healthy diet.

From the paradigm shift course, Bob Proctor said ‘Faith and fear both demand you believe in something you cannot see. You choose!‘.

I had feared not getting pregnant for years. But, when I changed my internal dialogue and started visualising, repeating my affirmations and meditating, that fear diminished.

What I am trying to say is just try it. You have nothing to lose.

Start by believing that it can help and then practice daily.
