Hi, my name is Chhaya and I am a mum to a little girl who I conceived naturally at the age of 46!
I still feel so excited when I say that, even today, as not many people believed that it could happen.
My Story
It was only when I turned 40 that I truly wanted to have a baby. Up until then having a baby wasn’t top of my agenda. Travel was my main desire and having a baby was something that was just going to happen in the future.
By the time my husband and I were ready, our lives were quite hectic and we were having to deal with challenging characters at work and at home.
It wasn’t until I was 44 that our work life settled and having a baby was seriously back on the agenda. Unfortunately, time was not on our side and IVF was our only route.
Our IVF Journey
In the space of 9 months we went through 3 rounds of IVF with 2 different clinics. Each time eggs were produced and embryos created, but we failed at the implantation stage. It was emotionally draining and physically knackering.
I still remember to this day being told not to waste any more money on another round of IVF as I was just too old and the odds were low.
I was crushed. All I wanted to do was turn back time. I regretted every single holiday we had taken.
It was a few months later when by chance, I came across a post on Facebook for Bob Proctors Paradigm Shift course. It sounded interesting- ‘change the way you think’.
This then led me to find a program on acupressure and the benefits of Chinese herbs for fertility which in turn, led to a wonderful program on visualisation and affirmations.
Well, a year to the day of my last failed IVF cycle, I fell pregnant.
On the 04/04/2020 at 4.20pm, I had my beautiful daughter Sofia.
I was only 47!
Why am I sharing this with you?
Sometimes we all need to hear a happy ending story.
I have learned over the past 3 & 1/2 yrs that we tend to focus too much on the negative, whether it be the situation we are in or a person we have to deal with.
I spent ages agonising on the fact that there was only a 1% chance of me getting pregnant. In the end I realised, that was all I needed!
Science is amazing but we have to remember that science is based on assumptions and is only as good as the assumptions it is based upon.
TRUST IN YOURSELF AND HAVE FAITH.
Here are some of the affirmations that I listened to daily.
I used them along with meditation, visualisation, gratitude practice and acupressure, EVERY DAY
Thank you for reading and good luck with your journey x
